ArcelorMittal is considering a Rs 1 billion investment in Gujarat.

According to a notification from the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office on Friday, Lakshmi Mittal, chairman of ArcelorMittal, made a visit to Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, accompanied by the company’s CEO Dilip Oommen.

During the visit, Mittal reiterated his desire to invest Rs 1 lakh crore in Gujarat, according to the press statement.

Mittal pledged to invest Rs 50,000 crore in the development of his facility near Hazira in Surat, as well as Rs 50,000 crore in the solar energy, wind energy, and hydrogen gas production sectors, according to the report.

“In response to their favourable reaction, the CM has welcomed them to invest in Gujarat and has promised them of all required assistance,” according to the press statement.

M K Das, the CM’s Additional Chief Secretary, was also present.
