Nykaa had a net profit of Rs 61.9 crore in FY21, up from a deficit of Rs 16.3 crore the previous year. Its overall revenue in FY21 was Rs 2,452.6 crore, up from Rs 1,777.8 crore in FY20.

Nykaa is a digitally native consumer technology platform that provides consumers with a content-driven, lifestyle shopping experience. It offers a comprehensive range of beauty, personal care, and fashion items, as well as its own-brand products made by third parties.

In FY2021, 17.1 million orders for beauty and personal care goods were placed on Nykaa’s platform, resulting in a total GMV of Rs 33,804.1 million, up 35.3 percent from FY2020.

The firm also includes 38 Luxe stores, 32 On-trend stores, and 9 kiosks in addition to its online presence. Nykaa is also looking to expand internationally.

When asked about the contribution of offline retail, Nykaa CEO (Beauty E-commerce) Anchit Nayar indicated that before the epidemic, physical retail accounted for roughly 8-10% of the company’s revenue.

The firm plans to utilise the revenues from the IPO to improve customer acquisition and retention by increasing brand exposure and awareness, repaying outstanding borrowings taken out by the company and one of its subsidiaries, and opening additional retail outlets and warehouses.

Nykaa’s own brands contributed roughly 8% of GMV in FY21 and 7.5 percent in the first quarter of current fiscal year.
