Shein coming back to India: E-commerce platform Shein which was banned by the Indian government last year is set to re-enter the Indian market as an Amazon seller. As per reports, Shein is going to be released during Amazon’s annual Prime Day sale. This deal will begin at 12 a.m. on July 26 and will end on July 27.
Shein India will relaunch as an Amazon vendor.
Business Insider broke the storey of Shein’s comeback in India. Shein‘s creators have yet to make an official remark on the subject. “Dear customers, to make timely adjustments, we decided to temporarily pause new orders from India beginning July 11th, until we can reach a new agreement with the government and the ban order is lifted,” according to their website.
Shein India was among the 250 Chinese apps that were blocked
There is no specific reason why the makers have not issued an official statement about the matter. Between June and September of last year, Shein was one of 250 Chinese apps that were blocked.
Battlegrounds Mobile India, like Shein, was able to return to the Indian market when PUBG Mobile was banned. PUBG Mobile is a South Korean game that has been banned from Indian servers due to ties with Tencent Games, a Chinese firm.
They’ve violated their contract with Tencent Game for India and are now launching the game with Krafton for consumers.
The launching of this game sparked a lot of interest among players. Krafton also stated that their game drew in approximately 38 million users in only two weeks after it was published.
After finding that the applications are involved in actions that are detrimental to India’s sovereignty and integrity, defence, state security, and public order, the Ministry of Information Technology prohibited them under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
In order to protect national security, the US has issued orders banning popular Chinese social media applications TikTok and WeChat, weeks after India banned them, claiming they were harmful to the country’s sovereignty, integrity, and security.
