In connection with a money-laundering investigation, Ed has summoned Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi. On Thursday, the actress appeared at the ED. She will be questioned as part of an investigation against alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar.
For those who are unaware, he is accused of being involved in a multi-billion dollar extortion scheme. Nora, as well as Jacqueline Fernandez, have been summoned before the agency on October 15. This is the second time the 36-year-old actress has been summoned to participate in the investigation.
It stated in a statement that Chandrasekhar is a “renowned conman” who is being investigated by the Delhi Police in connection with a case of suspected criminal conspiracy, defrauding, and extortion of Rs 200 crore.
“The fraud’s mastermind is Chandrasekhar. Since the age of 17, he has been a part of the criminal underworld. He is currently detained at Rohini jail (in connection with the Delhi Police case) and faces various FIRs “Previously, the ED stated.
Despite being in prison, Chandrasekhar “did not cease defrauding” others, according to the report. With the use of technology, he (with a cellphone obtained unlawfully in prison) made faked calls to deceive individuals into thinking the numbers displayed on the phoned party’s phone number belonged to top government employees.
The ED alleged that “when speaking (from the prison) to these persons, he claimed to be a government officer promising to help people for a fee.”
Chandrasekhar was arrested in 2017 for allegedly collecting money from TTV Dhinakaran to bribe Election Commission officials so that the Sasikala faction may use the AIADMK’s “two leaves” symbol in a by-election to the R K Nagar Assembly seat in Tamil Nadu.
Nora was most recently seen in the film ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India,’ which also starred Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, and Ammy Virk. Jacqueline’s most recent film role was in ‘Bhoot Police,’ which also starred Yami Gautam, Saif Ali Khan, and Arjun Kapoor.
