Gautham Menon will not appear in Anbuselvan movie

After the poster for the film Anbuselvan went viral, Gautham Menon denied appearing in it.

Gautham Vasudev Menon, an actor-director, expressed surprise on Wednesday, November 3 after a poster went viral on social media claiming that he is starring in a film titled Anbuselvan, which is apparently named after the protagonist in his hit directorial film Kaakha Kaakha, which starred Suriya and Jyotika.

Gautham turned to Twitter to say that he had no knowledge he was a part of such a project after various industry trackers, social media influencers, and personalities from the film business, including director Pa Ranjith, tweeted a poster of the allegedly impending film.

“This is both startling and surprising to me. I’m not sure what this movie is that I’m meant to be in. I’m not familiar with or have never met the filmmaker whose name appears on this billboard. The producer has gotten some huge personalities to tweet about it. It’s both astonishing and terrifying that anything like this can be accomplished so easily,” Gautham wrote on Twitter. Pa Ranjith removed the tweet in which he complimented Gautham on becoming a part of the initiative shortly after Gautham’s post.

The poster, which is now thought to be a forgery, depicts Gautham holding a pistol from several perspectives. The film is titled Anbuselvan, with the slogan ‘The Devil Cop,’ and the director is identified as A Vinoth Kumar. Suriya’s character in Gautham Menon’s successful movie Kaakha Kaakha is named Anbuselvan. Anbuselvan is allegedly being produced by Seventymmstudios and presented by M Magesh Films, according to a circulating poster – neither of whom are well-known in the business.

It’s now being suggested that the poster is a hoax, maybe created by a fan. Even more so, because many of the people who first tweeted the news have now deleted their tweets.

On the job front, Gautham Vasudev Menon is now working on Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, his forthcoming film featuring actor Silambarasan. AR Rahman has been enlisted as the film’s music composer. After the successful films Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada, this is the actor, music director, and film director trio’s third collaboration.

Gautham Menon and Academy Award-winning music composer AR Rahman recently collaborated to promote ‘Alipoola Vennela,’ the official song for this year’s Bathukamma festival in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, in October.
