Xiaomi Redmi 10 Prime: Price, Launch date in India, and Specification

Xiaomi Redmi 10 Prime: Xiaomi’s newest Redmi model, the Redmi 10 Prime, was released in India on Friday. The new Redmi phone is a substantial advance over last year’s Redmi 9 Prime, which was released in August.

It has a hole-punch display, an improved quad back camera system with a 50-megapixel main sensor, and the MediaTek Helio G88 processor.

The Redmi 10 Prime also has a 90Hz display and dual stereo speakers, which improves on the previous year’s model. The new phone also looks to be a slightly modified version of Xiaomi’s Redmi 10 smartphone, which was released internationally last month.

The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model of the Redmi 10 Prime costs Rs. 12,499 in India. The phone also comes with a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version that costs Rs. 14,499.

The Astral White, Bifrost White, and Phantom Black Redmi 10 Prime will be available starting September 7 through Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Home shops, Mi Studios, and major retail locations around the country.

Customers who purchase the phone with an HDFC Bank card or EMI transactions will receive an immediate discount of up to Rs. 750.

To put things in context, the Redmi 10 started at $179 (approximately Rs. 13,100) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model when it was released internationally. Last year, Xiaomi released the Redmi 9 Prime, which had an original pricing of Rs. 9,999 for the basic 4GB RAM + 64GB storage configuration.

Redmi 10 Prime Resolution and Display

The dual-SIM Redmi 10 Prime boasts a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and runs on Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 on top.

The display also has a 90Hz adaptive refresh rate that switches between 45Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz refresh rates based on the content frame.

Redmi 10 Prime Processor

The Redmi 10 Prime is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 SoC, which is paired with an ARM Mali-G52 MC2 GPU and up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM. There is also support for up to 2GB of RAM extension, which effectively leverages the built-in storage to improve multitasking.

The Redmi 10 Prime has a quad rear camera configuration that includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter with an f/2.2 lens, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter for pictures and movies.

The rear camera system enables full-HD (1080p) video recording as well as HD (720p) slow-motion video recording at a frame rate of 120 frames per second.

A front-facing 8-megapixel selfie camera sensor with an f/2.0 lens is also included in the Redmi 10 Prime.

The Redmi 10 Prime has up to 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 512GB) via a dedicated slot. 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Infrared (IR) blaster, FM radio, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone port are among the connectivity choices.

An accelerometer, ambient light, magnetometer, and proximity sensor are among the sensors on board. There’s also a fingerprint sensor on the side.

Redmi 10 Prime Battery

The Redmi 10 Prime has a 6,000mAh battery that enables 10W fast charging and up to 9W reverse charging with the included 22.5W charger. The only on-paper difference between the Redmi 10 Prime and the normal Redmi 10 is the battery, which has a 5,000mAh capacity.

Furthermore, the Redmi 10 Prime is 61.95×75.57×9.56mm in size and weighs 192 grammes.
