Joe Lara, the star of the television movie Tarzan: The Epic Adventures, died on Saturday (May 29) with his wife and five other people in a small plane crash near Nashville, authorities said. Joe Lara was 58 years old.

A Cessna C501 sank in Percy Priest Lake near Smyrna, Tennessee after taking off from the Smyrna Rutherford County Airport at around 11 a.m., the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.

Authorities have not released registration information for the plane that was directed to Florida’s Palm Beach International Airport.

“Rutherford County rescue workers were at the scene of the accident Saturday night and wanted to work overnight”, Rutherford County Fire Chief Joshua Sanders told a press conference. He said that there were no survivors.

“Our efforts have shifted from rescue operations to salvage operations. We are currently no longer looking for living victims, ”he said.

District officials identified the victims in a press release on Saturday night as Brandon Hannah, Jessica Walters, Jennifer J. Martin, Gwen S. Lara, William J. Lara, David L. Martin, and Jonathan Walters, all from Brentwood, Tennessee. Their names were released after family members were notified.

Joe Lara Career: William Joseph Lara was born in San Diego on October 2, 1962 and began modeling before starring in the 1989 CBS television movie Tarzan in Manhattan, in which the King of the Jungle in New York tried to save his chimpanzee, cheetah.

He then played the role of Edgar Rice Burroughs in the first syndicated series Tarzan: The Epic Adventures, which was filmed in South Africa, and also produced this series.

Joe Lara movies and series: Lara has also appeared in action films such as Sunset Heat (1992), American Cyborg: Steel Warrior (1993), Final Equinox (1995), and Doomsdayer (2000), as well as in series such as Baywatch and Conan.

He played guitar and released an album in 2009, Joe Lara: The Cry of Freedom.
