At Chhatrasal stadium in Delhi, two-time Olympic Medalist Sushil Kumar murdered Sagar Dhankar; who was a junior champion wrestler who died on May 5, 2021. The family of Sagar Dhankar approached the police station to seek Sushil Kumar’s arrest on Saturday.
According to the source, Sushil Kumar was arrested on Saturday near Jalandhar by Delhi Police. Sushil was on the run for over a fortnight.
Sushil appealed for an anticipatory bail in New Delhi Rohini Court on May 18, 2021 but the court rejected the bail.
Since Sushil missing, Delhi Police has announced a cash reward of Rs. 1 Lakh (0.1 million) on the information of Sushil.
What leads Sushil Kumar in murder case?
The death incident of 23 years old Sagar Dhankar took place due to injuries during both wrestler clashes at Chharasal Stadium on May 4.
Delhi Police issued a look-out circular against Sushil Kumar. Police made continuous raids in Haryana and Punjab states to arrest him.
A non-bailable warrant has been issued by the Delhi court against Sushil. He won a bronze medal in the Beijing Olympics (2008) and a silver medal in London Olympics (2012) under the 66 kg category.
